TPE processing methods should be selected for the grade, part geometry and equipment. The original article discussed blow molding, extrusion and overmolding.
Blow-molded hollow parts require suitable melt behavior and molding conditions. Extruded profiles require attention to dimensional stability, shrinkage and surface quality.
Combining TPE with a rigid substrate requires suitable materials and a defined bonding method. Adhesive-free bonding, thermal fusion with different resins and low shrinkage are not universal guarantees for all TPEs.
